Invasive Procedures

Whilst we appreciate that parents with young children may find it difficult making arrangements to have child care cover when it is necessary to attend for an invasive Procedure such as a Smear test, fitting of an IUD, Implanon or a Minor Operation- we would like to encourage our patients to try to arrange for young children to be looked after by a friend or relative so that you may attend for such a routine on your own.

We have to ensure that both our patients and staff are working in a safe environment when carrying out such work. It is therefore the Practice Policy to ask patients not to bring young children to such procedures. If you experiencing severe difficulty please speak to one of our Receptionist who could advise on the help we could provide to assist you in getting to your appointment. We have a member of staff in Reception who is CRB checked.
